Why Trust a Seventee2 Guide?

Here at Seventee2, we will only ever suggest products that we believe in. Time and time again, we see guides throwing in some really poor recommendations, purely to earn a quick payday. In reality, most people are looking for a guide that recommends products you’re actually going to use and enjoy. So when we went through the process of forming this guide, we made sure to think outside the box and truly get into the mind of the golfer.

As keen golfers ourselves, we know what it’s like to get a bad golf present, usually an accessory. But with the help of this guide, you might be able to find something that will actually improve the quality of your golfing experience. At the end of the day, that is what an accessory is for, to compliment the main product (a round of golf).

Our Picks for Best Golf Bag Accessories

Ghost-golf-valuables-pouch

Golf Utility Pouch – Ghost Golf Club

$ 41 .60 (£33.00)
  • Water-resistant exterior
  • Sleek design
  • Zipper compartment

A utility pouch is arguably one of the best golf bag accessories you can buy. It gives you a place to put all your valuables to keep them safe and dry. We’re especially fans of the utility pouch from Ghost Golf Club.

This pouch is made out of a water-resistant material with a velour internal lining meaning your phone, keys and wallet are in a secure environment with minimal chance of scratches etc. With one zipper compartment and one buttoned compartment, you will be surprised by how much you can fit in it. We would recommend keeping your phone and keys within the zipper compartment and things such as cash and scorecards within the buttoned compartment.

You can easily store this pouch in any of your golf bag’s compartments. However, it does come with a small carabiner if you prefer to hang it on the outside of your bag. Bear in mind the pouch will only be water-resistant to a point, so don’t be surprised if the contents of the bag are damp after a flash flood!

Quad-Lock-Golf-Mount-on-golf-trolley

Phone Holder – Quad Lock Case Mount

$ 29 .00 (£22.99)
  • Secure & sturdy design
  • Adjustable for desired position
  • Customisable colour options

Most golfers these days use their phone in some capacity whilst out on the course. Many players (including myself) use their phones to track their score as well as things like filming their swing. But it can be a pain to have to keep pulling your phone out of your bag, or even your pocket, but the Quad Lock Case Mount is the best solution we’ve found.

The Quad Lock Case mount attaches to your trolley or cart and gives you a place to easily store and access your phone whilst out on the course. It comes with a dual stage lock which means your phone is as secure as possible whilst attached to your trolley or cart.

You can also customise the mount to suit your style, with three colour options available. Red, White and black could be the colour of your mount.

Callaway-tri-fold-golf-towel-black

Golf Bag Towel – Callaway Tri Fold

$ 22 .67(£17.99)
  • Multi-textured
  • Black on black design looks great
  • Quick snap attachment

A golf towel is in my opinion one of the most important accessories you can get for your golf bag. It gives you the ability to clean your clubs, dry your grips and generally provide welcome relief for when you’re playing in the rain. Now you may be thinking – how can you give a specific towel recommendation? Surely a towel is a towel. These are all valid questions, but the Callaway Tri Fold is certainly one to consider.

What makes the Trifold the towel you need for your golf bag is the fact that it is multi-textured. What this means for the golfer who has it on the bag is you have 3 different surfaces/textures to help you clean your clubs. It may sound simple, but you will find a lot of golf towels nowadays that have only one texture, like a traditional towel.

It also looks great and will suit any bag with a darker colour scheme. Subtle enough in design that it won’t take away from your bag design, but can certainly be a standout piece if you want it to be.

golf-cooler-sleeve

Cooler Bag/Sleeve

$ 16 .37 (£12.99)
  • Fits inside your golf bag
  • Capacity for 7 Cans
  • Great value for money

Now if you’re into your social golf, especially playing with a few buddies at the weekend, you’re going to want this one. A cooler sleeve is a non-invasive way to store a couple cans of your chosen beverage in your bag. Choosing a sleeve over a cooler box means you can slot it in with your clubs. Or alternatively, in one of your bigger side pockets.

This particular sleeve can fit up to 7 small cans in it, which correlates to about 5 standard size cans in one go. It comes furnished with a pull tag at the top making it easy enough to lift the sleeve up and out of your golf bag.

If you’re looking for a golf gift under $20, you can’t go far wrong with this one.

JBL-Clip4-portable-speaker-black

Portable Speaker – JBL Clip 4

$ 75 .60 (£59.99)
  • Waterproof
  • Integrated Carabiner
  • Premium sound quality

This is another one for the real social golfers. A portable speaker is an essential golf accessory if you enjoy a laid back round of golf with your pals. Having a couple tunes on while you cruise around the course is a great way to keep the vibes up. But of course, be mindful of others on the course, there aren’t soundproof walls on the edge of each hole.

The Clip 4 from JBL is the best portable speaker any golfer could want. You get the premium sound quality you expect from JBL, with the mobility and durability of some of the best portable speakers on the market. It comes with an integrated carabiner which makes it easier than ever to clip to your golf bag. And considering it is waterproof, you can be confident it won’t be damaged if caught in a shower.

With bluetooth streaming as standard and 10 hours of battery life, the Clip 4 should have you easily covered during your round.

Customisable-metal-bag-tag

Golf Bag Tag – Etsy

Prices starting from:

$ 25 .90 (£19.99)
  • Laser printed designs
  • Customisable
  • Made from Aluminium

Accessories are a great way to customise your golf bag and make them personalised to your taste. A bag tag is a small but effective way of putting your own twist on your golf bag. If you don’t want your bag’s manufacturer getting all the attention, why not get a personalised bag tag with your club crest or your initials on it.

If you look through Etsy, you will be able to find a store that does exactly what you’re looking for. But if it is a clean bag tag with customisable options you’re looking for, then you can’t go wrong with the one we have linked to in this section. The metal it is made from means your tag will be durable and is unlikely to break under little stress.

Another one that makes for a great gift, not many better golf gifts out there that can offer the personal touch.

Best Golf Bag Accessories to Make you Better at Golf

We get it. Sometimes you’re going to want golf bag accessories that actually improve your game. That’s perfectly fine. I’ve put together some of my favourite golf bag accessories that will have your strikes purer and putts rolling end over end in no time.

TecTecTec-white-rangefinder

Range Finder

$ 214 .22 (£169.99)
  • Rugged design
  • Built-in Magnet
  • Slope compensation technology

How this Accessory Makes You Better at Golf

You’ve probably heard a lot of chatter about rangefinders and why you should have one in the bag. Put simply, they are essential for dialling in your game. When it comes to seeing improvements to your game as a result of the accessories you add to your bag, a rangefinder can see the biggest returns.

This rangefinder from TecTecTec comes with a handful of features designed to make getting your yardage as easy as possible. With slope and target vibration lock features, it is as simple as point and shoot with this rangefinder. Despite being on the expensive end of this guide, this is certainly one of the best golf bag accessories you can get. Oh, and if you are likely to be using it a lot, it comes with a magnet so you can stick it to your cart or trolley for quick access.

Forb-golf-alignment-sticks

Alignment Sticks

$ 10 .00 (£7.99)
  • Can be stuck in ground
  • Cheap
  • Fit in your golf bag

How this Accessory Makes You Better at Golf

Along with a rangefinder, alignment sticks can make a significant improvement to your game. Obviously they’re completely useless without practice, but they’re fantastic at giving you a guide at how your swing is supposed to look as well as providing feedback on things like your club impact with the turf.

All you need to begin with is just the 2 alignment sticks, but as you look to fine-tune your swing, you would be advised to invest in a couple more to work on things such as swing plane. These sticks from Forb Golf are a great place to start, and at $10 for two, you can’t go wrong.

Golf-ball-alignment-cradle-and-marker-pen

Golf Ball Alignment Tool

$ $5 .00 (£3.99)
  • Multiple marking options
  • Market pen included
  • Cheap

How this Accessory Makes You Better at Golf

A golf ball alignment marker is one of the best (and cheapest) investments you can make in your game. Nowadays, most golf balls now have some form of alignment guide on them to help when putting. But for some golfers out there, this guide isn’t enough or is tough to see. If that’s you and you’d like a little extra help on the greens, this is the best golf bag accessory for you.

The Masters Align-M-Up Ball Alignment Tool & Marker comes with a plastic cradle and marker pen so you have all you need to get your preferred alignment guide on your ball. If you’re unsure which golf ball is right for you, check out our guide on the best golf balls for high handicappers.

Golf-groovy-club-cleaner-black-on-green-grass

Club Brush – Golf Groovy Club Cleaner

$ $16 .37 (£12.99)
  • Lightweight
  • Strong bristles
  • Quick access

How this Accessory Makes You Better at Golf

The importance of a clean club and clear grooves isn’t lost on us. While some may think they don’t need to worry about spin because that’s for the pros. They couldn’t be more wrong. Generating spin is something all golfers do and is generated largely by the grooves on the club interacting with the golf ball.

The golf groovy club cleaner is a cleverly designed brush that comes with a water spraying feature that helps you keep your clubs in pristine condition whilst hacking about the course. It has been specifically engineered with convenience in mind as well. It comes with a super-strong magnet that attaches the bottle to your bag. They also supply a plastic clip for those who are going to attach their cleaner to their carry bag (increasing strength).

This is arguably one of my favourite golf accessories on this list. The brush is sturdy and the water spray feature is much needed for when bits of mud and sand build up in the grooves.

Pitch Mark Repair Multi-tool

$ $12 .50 (£9.95)
  • Multiple tools
  • Magnetic attachment
  • Sturdy design

How this Accessory Makes You Better at Golf

A pitch mark repair multi-tool is as much of a benefit for yourself as well as those who play with you. No one wants to be putting on greens that look like they’ve been peppered by meteors. Especially when the solution is so easy. A pitch mark multi-tool allows you to repair any darts you might’ve sent into the green.

Hence the name, you’re getting more than one tool. This Callaway 4-in-1 tool also includes a brush for your club grooves, a blade for built up mud in those grooves as well as a magnetic ball marker. It has everything you need tool-wise to get round the greens. If you don’t currently have a pitch mark repairer, I would give serious thought into getting a multi-tool.

Honourable Mention Golf Bag Accessory

Toilet Paper

Price depends on ply preference.

  • Cheap
  • Saves you running to the clubhouse
  • Biodegradable

How this Accessory Makes You Better at Golf

It may seem silly upon first thought, but it’s always silly until it becomes a reality. If you’re caught short, you may need to answer nature’s call. And when that time comes, you’ll thank me for reminding you. You don’t even need a full roll in your bag, just enough toilet paper folded up to see you through the job. Our top tip would be to head into the clubhouse before your round and stock up.

If you’re new to the game of golf, it is completely normal to have some questions about what accessories you should be putting in your bag to make your experience better. We’ve collated some of the most frequently asked questions around golf bag accessories and answered them for you.

What Should You Put In A Golf Bag?

This is a perfectly valid question to have. Besides the standard 14-clubs you can normally have in a golf bag, there are a whole host of different items that are essential for any golfers bag. Our list of golf bag items is as follows:

  • Golf Balls – Including spares, everyone loses golf balls. You can never be too careful. [Essential]
  • Towel – Make sure it’s clean, you’ll be surprised at how effective they are when they don’t have mud hanging on for dear life. [Essential]
  • Tees – Now it is important to choose a tee style that you prefer. Personally, we prefer plastic tees as they don’t break, but if you’re eco-conscious, go for wooden or bamboo. [Essential]
  • Pitchmark Repair Tool – Don’t be that golfer. Repair your pitch marks on the green, even around the green. It improves everyone’s experience. [Essential]
  • Glove – A new glove can drastically improve your feel for your clubs, so make sure you get one that fits properly. [Essential]
  • Ball Marker – This is especially important if you’re playing with someone else. You will be able to reliably pick up your ball, clean it and then return it to the same spot. [Essential]
  • Pencil – Depending on whether you mark your scores or not. You may also choose to mark your score on an app such as 18Birdies
  • Water – You’re going to be out for a couple hours, potentially under the beating sun (assuming you’re not playing in the UK) so it is important to stay hydrated. A lot of courses nowadays have water fountains situated around the course as well.
  • Ball Marker – Save yourself the space in your bag, mark all your golf balls at home before your round. Saves you a job in the moment.
  • Waterproofs – This is vital for anyone playing golf in the UK. We all know how erratic the weather can get sometimes so make sure you’re not caught out. Keep a waterproof jacket in your bag.
  • Valuables Pouch – If you prefer your bag to be organised, a valuables pouch will help you keep your phone, wallet and keys separate from the rest of your bags contents.
  • Range Finder – When you’re a little further into the game, knowing your distances is essential for good scores. They can be pricey, but they can also make a world of difference.

Some of these items are essential, but not all of them. Pick and choose which items suit your game, but they all have their uses. Also worth remembering there will be expensive and cheap versions of everything, be sure to do your research so you get full value for money.

How Can I Make My Golf Bag Look Better?

There are loads of ways to make your golf bag look better. One of the best ways is to deck it out with customisable pieces. Bag tags, head covers and towels. These are statement pieces that are a great way to show off your personality. If you become a member of a club, you will likely get a bag tag with the course crest on it.

Organising your bag is also another way to improve the look of your bag. Ensure your clubs are slotted in your bag in a way that is logical, instead of just throwing them in there. When it comes to the contents of your golf bag, definitely consider getting a utility/valuables pouch for your phone, wallet and keys. While you might not be able to see it all the time, this organisation will give you a good feeling.

What Do You Put In A Golf Pouch Bag?

As far as I see it, there are two ways to use your golf pouch. Either for your valuables or for your essentials. Valuables such as your phone, wallet or cash, and car keys. Essentials are things like golf balls, tees and ball markers. Things you’re always going to need on the course. So in truth, what you put in your golf pouch is down to your preference.

How Do You Organise Accessories In A Golf Bag?

When it comes to organising your golf bag accessories, you can pretty much do what you want. But there are a few things to consider to make your golf accessory storage as effective as possible. Generally speaking, your golf bag will come with a minimum of 3 pockets or compartments. One each either side of the bag, and along the spine of the bag. It is along the spine that you may have a few additional pockets, depending on the manufacturer you buy from.

You should keep your waterproofs (or anything that is likely to get wet) in one of the bigger compartments. This keeps everything else in your bag dry – there’s no need to ruin all your best golf bag accessories in one go.

What you do with the other big compartment is up to you. I generally put things like snacks, winter gloves and clubs cleaning bits in here. And then what you should always put in the smaller compartment is your valuables. It is higher up and less likely to get caught out by any puddles you may have underestimated.

How Do You Hang A Towel On A Golf Bag?

Most towels have a grommet sewn within them that also comes with a carabiner which should be used to clip to your bag. You will find your golf bag will have a plastic or metal ring for you to attach your towel to.
